Gevgelija Bicycle Club
Cycling is in my blood and I enjoy riding on all kinds of terrain.
Gevgelija and the surrounding area are like God's invention for cycling and that was the main reason why in April 2022 I decided to create an association of citizens who enjoy riding on 2 wheels.
Gevgelija Bicycle Club is one of the most active associations of citizens in the municipality and in a year more than 100 cyclists have joined.
Get-Together - Kolede
On January 5th, on the occasion of the Christian holiday of Christmas (local title - Kolede), we organize a get-together among the club members. The get-together starts at 6 pm and ends the next morning between 4 and 5 am. In 2024, more than 60 members and supporters of the club attended.
On January 5th, a traditional Christmas bonfire is lit, and barbecue specialties are prepared, accompanied by drinks.
One Year Gevgelija Cycling Club
We celebrated one year of Gevgelija Cycling Club at the De Facto discotheque together with more than 600 of our friends from whole Macedonia.
To make the evening more interesting, we awarded many prizes from the numerous sponsors of the event
Gevgelija Velotlon
One year after the formation of the Gevgelija Cycling Club - GTK, together with a private company from the city, (AMD Gevgelija) we organized the first Velotlon in the history of Macedonia (cycling - running - obstacles), which is very popular and is already becoming traditional.
3 June - World Cycling Day
On the occasion of June 3rd, we are organizing a 30-kilometer group bike ride.
We are also participating in the very popular virtual Poly Marathon taking place in Ptuj, Republic of Slovenia.
"ALL in Sermenin"
In the second half of September, we organize the MTB event "All in Sermenin", which has attracted the attention of cyclists since its first year due to the beautiful MTB trails on Kozuf Mountain.
The event is multi-media and is attended by ecologists, athletes, artists, musicians, and students from all schools in the municipality.
"All in Sermenin" is the largest event in this part of Kozuf Mountain with more than 1,000 participants and visitors.
Gevgelija on Bicycle
"Gevgelija on Bicycle" was my wish from the first day of its formation as one of the founders of the NGO ChangeMakers4All in 2019. At the first event, we expected 50 cyclists, and there were more than 200, which gave us the motivation to organize a second, third...
On April 17, 2022, the Gevgelija Cycling Club association was formed, which was immediately involved as a co-organizer of the event.
In 2022, the number of participants doubled, so more than 900 bicycles were pedaling on the streets of Gevgelija.
The following year, in 2023, the number of participants exceeded 1,500, which is almost 10% of the city's population.
In 2024, we celebrated our 5th anniversary.
